Christopher J. Golden, a Loving Husband, Devoted Father, and cherished friend to many passed away on July 2, 2024, surrounded by his adoring family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born October 31, 1953, in Lawrence, MA, Christopher leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work and dedication that will forever be remembered by all who knew him.

Christopher’s dedication to his work and craft was unwavering. He spent 15 years at Parlex Corporation in Methuen, MA, before embarking on a remarkable 33-year journey at General Electric as a radiographer of airplane parts. His passion for his work shone through every day, evident in the fact that he never had a single reported issue with any part he inspected or reviewed. Along the way, he formed deep and lasting friendships with countless colleagues and friends.

Described as selfless, caring, and incredibly hardworking, Christopher's main purpose in life was to look after and support his family. This devotion extended beyond words as he would do anything for the ones he loved. His commitment to his family was unconditional.

Outside of work, Christopher found joy in various hobbies and interests that brought him immense happiness. A devoted fan of New England sports teams and sports in general, he never missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite teams. He also had a passion for reading and leaves behind a rich collection of books that meant the world to him. A fitness enthusiast, Christopher could often be found working out at the gym every other day at the YMCA. Anyone who knew Chris will remember his great pride in his unique talent of reciting and spelling any word backwards. Music was another one of his great loves; he listened to it constantly and shared this passion with his son Matthew and grandson Camden.

Christopher is survived by his loving wife Gwendolyn Golden, devoted son Matthew Golden and his wife Kristina, adored grandson Camden T. Golden, as well as cousins, nieces, nephews extended family members, and friends who will deeply miss him. He is preceded in death by his dear parents James & Ruth Golden but leaves behind cherished memories that will remain eternally in the hearts of those who knew him.

A celebration of Chris’ life will be held at a later date.

“It’s time to move on, but we will never stop singing the Golden Song. So it’s time for you to go to that better place, so keep a somewhat happy face. Cuz even though you’re gone, you will never die. Not in our hearts.”
