Christopher Holtrey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Snyder Funeral Homes, Craven Chapel on Jan. 19, 2026.
Christopher Lew Holtrey, age 66, passed away unexpectedly at his home on January 17, 2026. He was born on January 20, 1959, to Lew and Jo Ann (Parkinson) Holtrey.
Chris was a devoted husband, loving stepfather, proud grandfather, great-grandfather, and loyal friend. He graduated from Mt. Gilead High School and maintained close relationships with his classmates throughout his life, cherishing their regular lunches and lifelong bonds.
On June 16, 2018, Chris married the love of his life, Teri. Together they shared a deep bond and a love for traveling, often visiting historical sites or heading out on what Teri fondly referred to as their "adventures." Their time together was filled with companionship, laughter, and meaningful memories.
He held many jobs over the years, each reflecting his strong work ethic and reliability. One of those was at HPM, where he formed friendships that lasted a lifetime. Those friendships continued through weekly Tuesday morning breakfasts, a tradition he valued deeply.
Chris had a true passion for working on cars and was an avid drag racer, hobbies that brought him both excitement and pride. Above all else, one of his greatest joys was being a grandfather. He treasured time spent with his grandchildren and embraced that role with love and devotion.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lew Holtrey, and his beloved sons, Jeremy and Josh Holtrey.
Chris is survived by his loving wife, Teri, and their three dogs, Daisy, Fred, and Milo; his mother, Jo Ann Holtrey; his daughters, Megan Bigler and Alexandria (Rick) Ferguson; his brother, Terry (Rosemary) Holtrey; his cherished grandchildren, Austan, Alyvia, Allasyn, Avery, and Addison; and his great-granddaughter, Emerie. He also shared a very close and meaningful relationship with his uncles, Harley James (Barb) Hanna and Larry (Wendi) Hanna.
Chris' family will greet friends on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 from 11 - 1 PM at Snyder Funeral Homes, Mount Gilead Chapel, 67 N Main Street. After calling hours, a procession will take place to Rivercliff Cemetery, where a short graveside service will be held before his burial.
Chris will be remembered for his steady presence, unwavering loyalty to family and friends, and the quiet but lasting impact he made on everyone who knew him. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the love he gave so freely.
