Christopher Horvay, 74, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025. Born on January 19, 1951, to the late Benjamin and Jean Horvay, Chris lived a full and accomplished life marked by dedication, integrity, and love for family and friends.
Christopher married his beloved wife of 44 years, Kathleen (née Ragano), with whom he shared a lifetime of joy, laughter, and unwavering partnership. Together they raised two sons, Matt (Shannon) and Brent (Ilse), who brought immense pride to their lives. Chris was a cherished grandfather to Claire and Benjamin, who brought him endless happiness. He is also survived by his loving siblings Martha (Bill), Andrew (Janice), Mary (Benny), and Judy.
A practicing attorney for 50 years, Christopher was widely respected in his field, earning numerous accolades throughout his distinguished career. His colleagues and clients alike admired his professionalism, wisdom, and deep sense of fairness.
Beyond his professional life, Christopher had a passion for learning and an insatiable curiosity. He was a voracious reader -especially about history and world affairs. He loved playing tennis, golf, and skiing, and he found great joy in spending time outdoors with family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 1st at 11:00 a.m. at Highland Park Presbyterian Church (330 Laurel Ave, Highland Park, IL 60035). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CLL Society.
