JONES, Christopher M., 59, departed this life February 3, 2021. Chris was preceded in death by his father, William P. Whitaker; mother, Novella Finn Jones; and adopted father, James C. Jones; also siblings, Viola M. Williams, Russell A. Sykes Jr., Steven R. Sykes, Andrea S. Smith and Todd E. Whitaker. He leaves to cherish his memories his children, Sandy V. Howell (Corey), Bridget A. Howell and Christopher M. Gates; grandchildren, Kori Coleman, Ar'mez Woodson, Trequan Nickens, Kemonte Gates, Elijah Hill and Christopher M. Gates lll; siblings, Gladys B. Burrell, Sheila S. Richerson (Rubin), Pamela Jones-Sykes (Anthony) and Victor Whitaker; nieces and nephews, Chester N. Sykes, Darryl L. Williams (Sunjay), Andris L. Rivers, Thomas W. Smith Jr. (Alisha), Sharonda M. Sykes (Kolandra), Sherry D. Smith and Davon Stevens (Norris); aunts and uncles, John S. Finn Sr. (Joanne), Sherman R. Finn (Dorothy), Rosa L. Jones (William) and Olivia Finn; brother-in-law, Thomas W. Smith Sr.; sister-in-law, Marjorie M. Sykes; goddaughter, Jazzmine Schultz; and a host of great-nieces and nephews, relatives and friends; amongst them, Kevin Schultz, Francine Gates, June Vines, Latrice Mills and W.W. Enroughty & Sons Inc. Crew. Remains rest at Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull Street, where a walk through viewing will be held between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2021. A graveside service will be held Friday, February 12, 2021, Forest Lawn Cemetery, at 1 p.m.
