Christopher Lawrence Kahrig

Christopher (Chris) Lawrence Kahrig, age 55, passed away unexpectedly on December 2, 2025. Chris was born on July 15, 1970, in Canton to the late Francis and Mary Kahrig.

Chris grew up in Perry Township and was a 1988 graduate of Perry High School. Chris owned Kahrig's Construction and Remodeling and worked construction jobs with Schumacher Homes, Kamph's Hardware and Siffrin, Inc. over the years. Chris was very proud of the two homes that he and his dad, Francis, built together. Chris was most recently employed with AAA Self Storage in Canton, Ohio. Chris was a member of the Perry Township Fire Department and the Brewster Fire Department for many years. He had the utmost respect for fire and police. Chris was a genuinely good person with a big heart. He was a hard worker and was always ready to lend a helping hand to family and friends. Chris enjoyed playing cards, puzzles, riding Harley motorcycles and vacationing.

Chris is survived by his son, Corey, grandchildren Tayden and Keylei; sister Marita & (Brian) Simon, nephews Garrett, Austin & (Macey) and Jacob; great niece Avery; his best friend Perry Ady, daughters Shirley, KaLee and Mary; his beloved service dog, Riley, and many family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Chris was proceeded in death by his wife, Dixie, children, Alyssa, Zachary, Keyawnu, Dawson, Bryce and Mariah, and mother-in-law Shirley Ady.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 8, 2025 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, with funeral service at 1:00 p.m and burial to follow at Stanwood Cemetery.
