Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bundy-Law Funeral Home on Feb. 23, 2026.
William E. "Bill" Kahrig, age 83, of Salesville, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026, at the Enclave of Cambridge. He was born on July 16, 1942, in Salesville, a son of the late Ben Kahrig and Nellie (Tillett) Kahrig.

Bill was a graduate of Quaker City High School. He began his working career in 1960 at the Farm Bureau Co-Op in Quaker City. In 1965, he continued his career in Cambridge with Farm Bureau, later known as Rolling Hills Landmark and Green Valley Co-Op, where he dedicated more than 54 years of service.

A lifelong supporter of youth and agriculture, Bill served as a 4-H advisor for over 49 years and was a steadfast presence at the Guernsey County Fair. He was a member of Old Washington Presbyterian Church and the Pennyroyal Ruritans for many years. Bill also faithfully served his community as a Wills Township Trustee for more than 16 years. Alongside his family, he farmed for many years, baling thousands of square bales of hay and continuing a proud agricultural tradition.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen Faye (Hayes) Kahrig. They were married for 63 years at the time of her passing on March 22, 2025.

He is survived by two sons, John Kahrig and Bob (Lisa) Kahrig; five grandchildren, Kaitlyn Kahrig, Doug (Nikki) Kahrig, Krista Burkhart, Dustin Kahrig, and Jadreanna Kahrig; five great-grandchildren; his special little buddy, Brayden Jeffrey; his sister, Judy (Dennis) Starr of Cambridge; two brothers, Donald (Darla) Kahrig of Old Washington and Jan Kahrig of Cambridge; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Guernsey Memory Gardens, with Pastor Jeff Eschbaugh and officiating.
