Christopher M. "Chris" Kea
Was born September 4, 1959 in Elmira the son of the late Dreadon and Aletha E. "Lee" (Burdick) Kea. Chris passed away peacefully on Monday, July 14, 2025 at his home with his beloved wife Darcy by his side. Chris and Darcy have known each other for most of their lives. They celebrated 12 years of marriage together. Survivors left to cherish his memory are his loving wife and best friend, Darcy; beloved daughter, Autumn Kea of Florida; sisters, Ruth & Gary Freeman of Texas and New York; Marcia Kea of Florida; nephew, James Mitchell of New York; niece, Kimberly and Timothy Damon also of New York; along with multiple cousins, many friends and other relatives from Rocky Mount, NC. Chris has been a mechanic his entire life and traveled the country doing just that. Locally he was a mechanic for Beam Mack and Shulman's. He was a metal craftsman and a talented, crafty welder. Chris would often take scrap pieces of metal and turn them into something beautiful. His latest passion was wood working. Once again, his craftsmanship was outstanding. In his spare time, Chris also belonged to a pool league and was a really good pool player. He absolutely loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. At his request there will be no services. The family will hold a Celebration of Chris's life at a later date and time.
