LIMA -- Christopher A. Kuntz, age 66, of Lima, Ohio passed away Monday, September 1, 2025 at OSU Wexner following a hard fought battle with multiple illnesses.
He was born October 17, 1958, in Marion, Ohio to the late Ralph Edward and Helen Louise (Wilson) Kuntz who survives in Columbus, Ohio. He married Mary Catherine Reger July 11, 1981, after meeting her while serving in the Army in Germany and she survives in Lima. During their 44 years of marriage, Chris and Mary lived in multiple areas across Ohio, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Chris knew how to slow down and enjoy the simple things in life. He enjoyed listening to good music, especially the Blues and Rock. He loved to fish and sit around a good fire. An avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan, he would be glued to the television during college football season. He enjoyed being in nature and fixing up the "Shack" in West Virginia. His dogs held a special place in his heart, especially his two Airedales, Zappa and Otis.
Additional survivors include a son Christopher (Kirsten) Kuntz of Middletown, PA, their son Theodore; a brother Kevin (Kim) Kuntz Bruce Township, MI; sister Lori (Brien) Hagerman of Westerville, OH and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at his residence on October 11, 2025 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Please come in your jeans and college football theme clothing (wear anything but Michigan).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to transplantation research at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center's Comprehensive Transplant Center. Gifts can be made either by mail or online at go.osu.edu/chriskuntz. For mail donations, please make checks payable to The Ohio State University Foundation, in the note write "Fund #315696, in memory of Chris Kuntz" and mail to: The Ohio State University Foundation, P.O.
