On May 21, 2025, Christopher F. McKissack, 66, accepted a call from his Lord and Savior to join his Heavenly Father after suffering a Heart Attack.
Chris started his earthly journey on September 27, 1958, born the second child of six to his mother, Robbie M McKissack in Nashville, TN. He resided in Akron, Ohio since the age of three.
Chris has always been successful in everything he has accomplished. He is known for his infectious smile, kindness, intellect and sincerity. He had many accomplishments after attending Akron public schools/graduate of South High class of 1977. He also attended KSU. Chris excelled at everything he chose to do. Currently working for the City of Akron Sanitation department he had many jobs throughout his career. He had a genuine love for people, sports, and get together and cook outs.
Preceded in death by his mother Robbie M, (2) brothers Michael and John McKissack. Survived by his children Christy (Jared) Berry, Dereka, William”Jason” McKissack of Atlanta, GA; 9 grandchildren; (3) Sisters Rosalyn (Marvin) Lewis, Robbin McKissack and Crystal (Kenneth) Hunter of Nashville, TN, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Special devoted friends Mensa Muata, Tyrone Parnell, Richard Brock, Robert Bell, Margaret Duncan, Aaron Tucker and Ms. Keaton. If you knew Chris, you were his friend!
Funeral service will be held at Noon on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Newcomer Funeral Home with visitation prior to the service from 10am-12pm.
