Christopher "Chris" H. McQueary, 53, of Columbus, passed from this life unexpectedly at 5:21 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2024 at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Chris was born December 13, 1970, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Harold D. and Nellie M. Alvey McQueary.
Chris worked in quality control at Impact Forge and enjoyed painting in his spare time. Assembling models from old, scary, low budget, horror movies was one his favorite things to do. He enjoyed watching movies such as, "Eraserhead". For many years, Chris also played the guitar. He will be missed by those that knew and loved him.
Survivors include his sons, Collin McQueary of Salt Lake City, Utah, Kanin McQueary of Cincinnati, Ohio; brother, Roger McQueary of Seymour and nephew, Devin McQueary of Seymour.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Matthew Jung officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home. In keeping with the family's request, cremation will take place after the funeral service.
Inurnment will be Garland Brook Cemetery at a later date.
