Christopher Brian Nash

Christopher Brian Nash was one-of-a-kind. His unique perspective and strong personality left an indelible impression on anyone that ever crossed his path. Most notably, he was unabashed by the reaction that his words would provoke and took every opportunity to make his thoughts and feelings known to those around him. Yet, beyond his hard exterior was a man that deeply loved his family and valued the importance of hard work.
Christopher's life began on July 12, 1964, when he was born to Vivian Seals Nash and Howard Nash in Jackson, Mississippi. He spent his formative years in the Jackson Public School District, graduating from Lanier High School. He confessed Christ at an early age.
After finishing high school, Chris begins his working career in the United States Air Force. Beyond his time in the Air Force, Chris utilized his commercial driving license to build a career with PepsiCo and Clark Beverage Group as a driver. His commitment to provide for his family often meant he would rise in the wee hours of the morning to "run his routes "before returning home in the late afternoon to cook for his household.
Chris loved cooking, but more importantly, he seemed to love his kin folk who would gather to share bread with him. Although he may have used a crass and blunt tone, one of his deepest desires seemed to center on knowing that his loved ones had what they needed to build safe and secure lives for themselves.
Unfortunately, Chris' health complications accelerated his decline and eventual transition. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Evres and Josephine Seals, his mother, Vivian Seals Nash, his brother, Gerry Nash, and his mother-in-law, Mae Epsia Cotten.
Chris leaves to cherish his devoted wife, Jacquline Cotten-Nash, his three boys, Antonio Bernard Cotten of Madison, Mississippi, Christopher Brian Cotten of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Andre' Bernard Cotten of Washington, DC, and his grandson, Aidan Mackenzie Cotten (Angel), and his goddaughter, Kiyah Hillman-Jenkins (Matthew). He is also survived by his siblings Willie Howard Nash of Southaven, Mississippi, Jackie Nash of New Orleans, Louisiana and Daphne Nash of Jackson, Mississippi, his sister-in-law, Gwendolyn Cotten-Smith (Ervin) of Madison, MS and three brothers-in-law. In addition, he leaves a cherished farther-in-law, Theodore Gray, Sr. of Madison, MS, Aunt Mittie Curry (Aunt Pearl) of Jackson, MS and loving uncle Willie "Sonny" Seals (Rose) of Taylorville, MS. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews to share in his memory.
