Christopher Plattenburg Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Moore-Cortner Funeral Home - Winchester from Jun. 15 to Jun. 19, 2025.
With great sadness, we share the passing of our dearly loved Christopher Randal
Plattenburg. He was born and raised in Winchester, TN but was currently residing in Smyrna,
TN. Jesus called Chris home on June 14, 2025, while vacationing with his family in
Eastpoint, FL. Although it was sudden and unexpected, we have peace knowing that he
is with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We know it was Chris' life goal to trust in the
Lord with all his heart. He worked to lean not on his own understanding and to
acknowledge Jesus in all his ways. We grieve his absence, but have assurance that we
will see him again soon in heaven. Chris was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandson, and friend. He is survived
by his wife, Kelsey Moreland Plattenburg & their three children, Maddux, Henry, and
Emma; his parents, Randal and Jennifer Plattenburg; his sisters, Julia (Mike) Sullivan
and Bethany Plattenburg; his grandparents, Bob and Susan Douglas, and Billy and
Maxine Plattenburg; his nephew, Jase Sullivan; his nieces, Bayleigh Crabtree, Harper
Little and Aurora Moreland; his aunts and uncles, Steve and Donna Brewer, and Jon
and Anita Hand; his cousins, Bryan Brewer, Kristin Brewer, Vivianne Brewer, Maya
Brewer, Margie Brewer, and Sean Hand; his mother-in-law, Jacqueline Moreland; his
father-in-law, Cason Moreland; his brother-in-law, Jaymes Moreland; and sister-in-law,
Lindsey Moreland. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Margie
Douglas.
Chris lived life to the fullest, always having fun and making others laugh. His interests
were many including golf, music, hunting, baseball, and spending as much time as he
could with his babies. At home, he enjoyed renovation projects, grilling, and lawncare.
He loved baseball and followed the Tennessee Volunteers. Professionally, he held the
role of Senior Clinical Specialist with Intracept by Boston Scientific. He loved people and
worked hard in his job to improve patients' quality of life. Being the leader of his home
was not a role he took lightly; he put his whole heart into everything he did.
Above all, Chris cherished his role as a father. His greatest joy came from raising his
three children-Maddux, and twins Henry and Emma. Through them, his warmth, sense
of humor, and unwavering love lives on.
Psalms 147:3 "He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds."
John 5:24 "I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me
has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life."
1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 "But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and
sisters, about those who have died, so that you may not grieve as others do who have
no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus,
God will bring with him those who have died."
A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, June 23, 2025, from 4:00pm – 6:00pm at
Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with a memorial service starting at 6:00pm from the
chapel with Bro. Alan Roggli, officiating.

I had the pleasure of working with Chris. He was such a kind, caring and funny guy. He loved his family immensely. He was always so proud to talk about them and show them off. Many prayers for his kids, wife and family. He will be greatly missed.

Gonna miss hearing that calming Tennessee voice, I really am! You were always reliable and efficient and a joy to work with. I wish we could have had more time to spend outside of work to fully get to know each other. Such a chill and soothing individual you were, I strive everyday to be like that. What a wonderful father, husband and friend Chris was. I just can´t put into words what this world has lost without you in it........

Much love,
The Sanderson
