He is survived by his wife, Teresita C Ranker. Step daughter, Lori Ann Chargualaf. Granddaughter, Jazmine Marie Chargualaf. And his siblings, Alan Ranker and his wife Mary, Roger Ranker and his wife Rosalie and Michelle Ranker. His brother-in-law Jesus T. Chargualaf and Pedro Tzanahua. His sister-in-law Josefina C. Leon and Catherine T. Chargualaf. Numerous nieces and nephews.
At the age of 18, he left home to follow his passion for music and being a musician. For 20 years he played a lot of honky tonk country music in Lake Tahoe, Salt Lake City and a lot of bars west of Iowa. While doing what he loved, one of his bands got a contract to play overseas, which included Japan and the island of Guam for the military bases. He continued to play in bands while in Guam. When live bands started to fade out, DJs were taking over. Chris got on board and became a DJ, which he called Flashback. At the same time, he was working for the Department of Defense at the Naval Air Station in Guam. There was a downsizing at the base, and in April 2000 Chris moved to Utah to work at Hill Air Force Base. Chris has been employed by the DOD for 33 years.
Chris was the most awesome husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. We all have shared great memories with him. He is greatly missed.
There will be a service for Chris on December 29, 2023, at Russon Mortuary & Crematory, 1585 West 300 South, Syracuse, Utah from 4-6 PM.
