Mass of Christian burial for Christopher Michael Ridley, 30 of Devils Lake, ND will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 23, 2024, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Ft. Yates. Burial will be in the St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 PM, Thursday, February 22, 2024, with a prayer service to begin at 6:00 PM at the Church. Christopher died at his home in Devils Lake on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.
Christopher Michael Ridley was born with the name Christopher Michael Village Center on September 30, 1993, at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, North Dakota. His mother is Candace (Candy) Village Center. When Chris was born, his great-grandmother Leona (Archambault) Village Center was the one that picked out his name. She picked Christopher and Saint Christopher and Michael, after Saint Michael. She said they picked out those names because he would always have two Saints looking out for him. His mom Candy had help from her family to take care of Chris like his grandpa William (Bill) Village Center, Jr. who called Chris "Fat Boy", auntie Shyla Gomez, and his grandma Kathy Village Center (Candy's Aunt) also helped to take care of Chris.
When Chris was younger, he attended Fort Yates Public School, Home On The Range, Beach, North Dakota, Buehl Minnesota, Riverside Indian School in Anadarko, Oklahoma, Prairie Learning Center in Raleigh, North Dakota where he earned his GED when he was 17 years old.
Christopher worked various construction jobs, he worked as a roofer and also a flagger. He also worked at Prairie Knights Casino a couple times, a few fast-food restaurants in Bismarck, a gas station in Washburn and at the time of Chris's passing, he was working at Cenex Gas Station as a cashier in Devils Lake.
Chris liked to spend time with his friends and his family. He liked to be on his phone and his Facebook. He had his driver's license and was proud to have had it. Christopher liked to drive when he could, he liked to go on road trips. Chris had a good heart, he was willing to help when he could.
Christopher is survived by his mother, Candace (Candy) Village Center of Mandan, his stepdad, Steve Youngman, Sr., of Ft. Yates, his four siblings, sister, Portia Youngman of Ft. Yates, his brother D'mitri Youngman of Bismarck, his brother Steven Youngman, Jr. of Ft. Yates, and sister Bronte' Youngman of Ft. Yates, two nieces Katalina Youngman and Camilla Youngman, both of Ft. Yates, one nephew, Zayn Youngman of Ft. Yates, aunts, Ella Mae Kills Pretty Enemy of McLaughlin, Stephanie Steele of McLaughlin, Alicia Village Center of McLaughlin, Billie Jo Condon of Eagle Butte, uncle, Ambrose Brown of McLaughlin.
Christopher is preceded in death by great grandpa, William Village Center, Sr., great grandmother, Leona (Archambault) Village Center, great grandpa, Gerald Brown, Sr., great grandmother Edna (kills Pretty Enemy) Steele, Grandpa William (Bill) Village Center, Jr., grandmother, Norma Brown, aunt, Angel Village Center, uncle, Nathan Metcalf, and cousins, Angel Spotted Horse and Handsome Running Hawk.
