Christopher Roussell Obituary
January 14, 1971 - May 24, 2025
The Rev. Chris Roussell, 54, of Lynchburg, Va., passed away on May 24th, 2025. He was the son of the late Francis Roussell and Betty Rachal Roussell.
Chris was born on January 14th, 1971, in New Orleans, La. He attended school at Louisiana State University and Notre Dame Seminary, New Orleans. He was ordained a priest for the Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge in 2003. In 2013, his Holy Orders were accepted in the Episcopal Church. He served in Rapid City, S.D., before moving to Lynchburg, Va. where he served as the rector at St John's Episcopal Church for the past six years.
Chris is survived by his wife, Alison Roussell; children, Caroline and Meredith Landry; brother, Reagan Roussell and wife, Stacey Hart; sister, Stacy Roussell; nephews and nieces, Hunt Roussell, Lilly Roussell, Cade Roussell, Meghan Frederick, and Finn Frederick.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 27th, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church, with The Rt. Rev. Mark A. Bourlakas officiating. A visitation will be held on Monday, May 26th, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church.

Prayers and sincere condolences to the family and to his friends and church family. Chris was such a joy to be around in meetings and at convention. His visits to St Paul, Bear Mountain were so memorable for us all. He will be greatly missed!

My condolences to his family, I'm a resident in tinbridge hill and when I read this I was heart broken . I met him at our Thanksgiving dinners and we always waited on him to get there to carve the turkey and to pray. I still can't believe this. I also attended a few services at St John's. He was a blessing to me and a man of God. Thank you God for putting Pastor in my life. Earth's sorrow is Heavens gain. RIH Pastor you are already missed. My prayers for your church family as well as his family. Lord heal our hearts
