Christopher Paul Shanklin, 46, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 5, 2026.
The family will have a private gathering.
Chris was born on December 18, 1979, the son of the late Paul Augustus Shanklin and Patricia Williams Shanklin. He attended Orange High School and worked in construction for many years. Chris loved his family immensely and gave selflessly of himself. He knew no strangers and people loved him for his good heart, sweet personality, and infectious smile. He had a great sense of humor, was a jokester, and was rarely seen without a Bud Light. A TALL one. He was preceded in death by his father.
Those surviving that will miss him dearly are his mother Patricia W. Lowe, sister Shannon Williams Perkins, and her husband, Billy, sons Joshua Paul Shanklin and Bryson Lee Shanklin, and their mother Nikki Smithey and her daughter Sequoia Tate, daughters Madison Shipman and Victoria Cooler, granddaughter Ophelia Shipman, his fiancee Candida Ray and her children Ben and Faith. Also surviving are 3 special aunts, Linda Polak, Pam Williams, and Jeanne Robbins, 2 uncles, Ricky Williams and Roger Dale Williams, as well as 4 nephews and several loving cousins.
Walker’s Funeral Home, Mebane, is honored to serve the Shanklin family.
