Mr. Samuel Alvis Oldham, 93, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026, at the UNC Medical Center in Hillsborough.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 18 at Eastside Baptist Church, with Pastor Chris Hill and Pastor Chuck Perkins officiating. The family will greet friends at the church an hour ahead of the service, beginning at 2 p.m.
Mr. Oldham was born in Orange County on December 25, 1932, the son of the late Otho Wingate Oldham and Nancy Browning Oldham. He and his wife, Corinna Phillips ‘Cindy’ Oldham, recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on December 31st. He served proudly in the US Army, but first and foremost, he was a true servant of God and a faithful, dedicated member of Eastside Baptist Church. He was a hard worker, having owned his own cabinet business to provide for his family. Mowing and keeping a garden were two things he enjoyed, but his grandchildren were his pride and joy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers: Walter Oldham, Harry Oldham, William T. Oldham, Dalton Oldham, and Roger Oldham.
Those surviving that will miss him dearly are his wife, Cindy, daughter Angela Hall and her husband, James Hall Jr., grandchildren Joey Thomley and his girlfriend, Stephanie Rogers and Caitlin Tolley and her fiance, Samuel Law, brother, Jimmy B. Oldham and his sister Beulah Hoover.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eastside Baptist Church, PO Box 637, Mebane, NC 27302, or a charity of the donor’s choosing.
The family extends “Heartfelt Thanks” to the many nieces and nephews who have been a great support system.
Walker’s Funeral Home in Mebane is honored to serve the Oldham family.
