Christopher Grey Slone, age 49, left this world on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 3:04pm (to be with his parents; Frankie and Linda Slone in heaven), Chris was being cared for at Grant Medical Center due to an unexpected, traumatic brain injury. Chris was born on August 6th, in Wyandotte, Michigan, although, he lived most of his life in Columbus, Ohio. As a teen, Chris loved playing the drums and being around friends and family. Chris loved his friends & family very much & vice versa. He also had a love for NASCAR & Michigan football. Half of the time he lived in Columbus was spent with his first love, Terri Newsome. The love the two shared together grew into two beautiful children; Christopher and Angela Slone, who cherished their father, Chris and loved him unconditionally. Their relationship went on for 22 years & they later separated in 2002. One of Chris's biggest accomplishments was being a father. He had always wanted children and considered himself lucky enough to have two. On his final day, he was surrounded by both of his children, his "Son" & his "Sunshine," who he adored more than anything else in the world. He was often proud of his children. From "Lil' Chris's," football skills, & artistic abilities, to his daughter's beauty and brains. He was amazed by the strong, handsome, man his son had grew to be, & he was so very proud of his daughter's recent accomplishments, in college and in starting her own business. He would often brag to his buddies about how beautiful his grandchildren were and showed all of their pictures to anyone who would take the time to look. Chris had an infectious laugh, great wit and a sense of humor that always had people laughing. He could make you crack a smile, even when in the worst of moods. But no matter how much he made others smile and laugh he was still hurting himself. You see, Chris battled with an addiction throughout his life, which often kept him away from his friends & family much more than either of them would have liked. Chris often regretted the decisions he made in his life, but it was never enough to produce change. No matter how hard Chris tried, the addiction seemed to dominate. Chris spent the last couple years of his life with the only other woman he ever loved, Kayla Renner. Kayla and Chris shared many special times together while creating priceless memories. He was loved so much more than he ever knew! Chris is survived by partner; Kayla Renner. His 2 children; Christopher & Angela Slone, (by Terri Newsome), Grandchildren; Brayden and Nala. Sister; Lisa Slone, Aunt; Ollie & (Allen) Hunt, cousin; Andrew Hunt, Brenda Phillips, Brittany Phillips, Nieces & Nephew; Megan & Jennifer Slone, Brandon Newsome, & Caitlyn Blythe. Many special great niece's & nephews, such as; Kaden, & Emanuel, whom he had a close bond with, but there is many, many more! Chris was preceded in death by (his parents; Frankie and Linda Slone his sisters; Paula and Diana Slone (and Rickey Rittenberry), Aunt Mattie, Uncle David, and Cousin; Joe Caulley. Chris's life was a blessing, His memory a treasure He is loved beyond words
and missed beyond measure If love alone could have saved him, he would be here today!
If you would like to visit Chris one last time before he is laid to rest, you may attend visitation, which is Saturday, June 18th, from 4-6pm. Following visitation, will be the funeral service from 6-7pm at O. R. Woodyard located at: 1346 S. High St. Columbus, Ohio, 43207.
