Mr. Christopher Stephen Toms Jr.

Mr. Christopher Stephen Toms Jr., age 43, of Americus, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Shiloh Baptist Church. The family will greet friends at Shiloh Baptist Church Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until service time and at other times the family residents 171 Memorial Mile in Americus. Interment will follow the service in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.
These following gentlemen have been asked to serve as honorary pallbearers, Devin Daniels, Berry Eggers, Brian Harris, Danny Daniels, Cory Belcher, Darin Daniels and Ray Charles Jerkins. The Sumter County Fire & Rescue Team has been asked to serve as honorary pallbearers.
Christopher Stephen Toms Jr. was born May 17, 1980 in Americus. He was the son of Christopher Stephen Toms Sr. and Peggy Lynn Thornrose Toms. Mr. Toms worked for Glover Wholesale for 13 years and was currently employed with the Golden Gourmet Company in Americus. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Toms is survived by his wife, Dorothy Richardson Toms. Two daughters, Savana Ruth Toms Hemmingway (Hunter) of Americus and Bella Layne Toms of Plains. One son, Phillip Zane Toms (Kylee Osting) of Fort Moore, a brother, Joshua Howard Toms, and a sister, Chelsea Lynn Toms (Christian Guardiola). He would have had his first grand daughter due in a few weeks, Rylee Ruth Hemmingway. Mr. Toms is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Edith Patricia Thornrose and Butch Thornrose.
Mr. Toms was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James Deward Toms and Betty Ann Toms.
