Christopher A. Torres, 71, a native of Houma, LA and a resident of Raceland, LA, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Falgout Funeral Home, Raceland, LA and from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church, Raceland, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 pm Wednesday at St. Hilary with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Nativity Cemetery, Raceland, LA.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patrice S. Torres; daughters, Kristen Torres (Stephen), Celeste George (Shaun); son, Christopher Torres (Cheryl); grandchildren, Kayla, Jai, Tatum, Neela, Gavin, Tessa, Vera, Jonah, Riley and Perrin; great grandchildren, Clementine and Baby Blanchard; brother, Ted Torres (Connie); sisters, Becky Hutchinson (Sid) and Lisa Leedy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theophile and Heloise Torres and brother-in-law, Darin Leedy.
Chris’s greatest devotion was to God and to his family. A faithful member of St. Mary’s Nativity Catholic Church, he was also a proud member of the Knights of Columbus. For over 25 years, he served his parish as both a choir member and director, sharing his love of music and worship with the community.
Chris also dedicated 25 years to youth athletics, serving as a soccer coach and referee throughout Lafourche and Terrebonne parishes. Beyond his service, he enjoyed playing poker, hunting, and traveling. Above all, he treasured the time he spent with family and friends. His warmth, generosity, and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, donations to your favorite charity is preferred.
