Christopher Van Huis, age 46, passed away on August 14, 2023.
Chris' brief battle with cancer took his life much too early. He had a huge impact in his community, was an avid Michigan fan "Go Blue", and everyone was blessed to know him. He was dearly loved by his family and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Becky Van Huis; children, Taylor Van Huis and Chase Van Huis; parents, Bob and Mary Van Huis; in-laws, Bill and Louise Ypema; sister, Becky and Dave Baumann; brother, Jason and Jennifer Van Huis; sister-in-law, Connie and Stacey Manning; sister-in-law, Julie and Perry Ekkel; grandmother, Angeline Gruppen; grandmother, Wendy Elms; aunts and uncles, Jim and Pam Gruppen, Gary and Vicky Gruppen, Pat and Bill McMurry, Steve Gruppen, Jayne and Tim Fifolt, Ginny and Dave Hoekstra, Jack and Jan Langeland; nieces and nephews, Kohl Baumann, Callie and Travis Flokstra, Syerra and Forrest Keating, Austin Prentice and Issy De Alba, Kaden Van Huis, Ella Van Huis, Tucker Ekkel, Erica and Paul Kenworthy, Matthew and Alissa Neymeiyer, Jacob Neymeiyer, Leigh Ann Neymeiyer-Zeedyk, Cara Neymeiyer; and numerous cousins and extended family.
Visitation with the family is 3:00-6:00 pm on Sunday, August 20 at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State St. Zeeland, MI 49464.
Memorial services are at 11:00 am Monday, August 21, 2023, at Haven Reformed Church, 4691 Oak Street, Hamilton, MI 49419 with Rev. Michael Drew officiating.
Memorial contributions in Chris' honor may be given to the Gate Youth Center, 4872 136th Ave, Hamilton, MI 49419 or Haven Reformed Church (for Hand 2 Hand) 4691 Oak Street, Hamilton, MI 49419. www.yntemafh.com
