Christopher Ward Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Muffley Funeral Home Inc. on Mar. 2, 2026.
Christopher James Ward, 36, of Clovis, New Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

Christopher was born on February 23, 1990, in San Antonio, Texas, to Roy and Penny Clithero. From the very beginning, he carried a determined spirit, a strong will, and a deep love for family that shaped the man he became.

He proudly served in the United States Army Infantry, where he demonstrated courage, discipline, and loyalty to those beside him. His time in service reflected his strength of character and commitment to something greater than himself. After completing his military service, Christopher pursued life as an entrepreneur, channeling his drive and independence into building opportunities for his family's future.

On July 11, 2015, in Bastrop, Texas, he married the love of his life, Gabriella Monique Trevino. Their bond was rooted in love, devotion, and partnership. Christopher's greatest joy in life was being a husband to Gabriella and a father to his son, James Lee. He was proud beyond words of his family, and his son was the light of his life.

Christopher was an outdoorsman at heart. He felt most at peace hunting at sunrise, fishing for hours, racing off-road, or simply being outside with those he loved. He lived boldly, loved fiercely, and protected those closest to him with unwavering loyalty.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Gabriella Ward; his cherished son, James Lee Ward; his father, Roy (Shirley) Ward of Kerrville, Texas; his mother, Penny Clithero of San Antonio, Texas; his grandmother, Christa Ward; his brothers, Steven (Jazmin) Ward, Jaime Gill, Jarrett Gill, Ben Garrett; and his sister, Alexandra Hill. He also leaves behind extended family members and friends who will forever hold his memory close.

Christopher was preceded in death by his grandfather.

A service honoring Christopher's life will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 12:23 p.m. at the Clovis AFB Chapel.

Though his time with us was far too short, the strength, love, and spirit he gave to his family will endure always.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Muffley Funeral Home, www.muffleyfuneralhome.com, (575)762-4435.
