Christopher William Wilson, affectionately known as Chris to his friends and family, passed away unexpectedly on June 5, 2025. Born on March 25, 1977, to William J. Wilson and Jacqueline B. Wilson. Chris's life was one marked by dedication, joy, and especially the love of his life, Meryle Lee. His radiant spirit and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Chris was a proud graduate of Smyrna High School, class of 1995, where his passion for soccer shone brightly on both travel and recreational teams. He continued his education at Shippensburg University before transferring to the University of Delaware. Chris's professional life was as diverse as it was commendable, beginning with a position at Pratt Insurance as an insurance salesman. He later served as an assistant manager for AT&T and found his most recent calling as a reliable and dedicated machine operator for Mid-Atlantic Dry Ject, where he worked closely with one of his dearest friends, Chris Cannatelli.
His work ethic was unparalleled, but it was Chris's interests and passions outside of work that truly defined him. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he remained a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Manchester United soccer teams for which he shared a passion with his brother BJ. His love for the game never waned, and he often reminisced about his playing days with a smile. Chris's penchant for helping others was evident from a young age when he assisted his grandparents in delivering Meals On Wheels. This charitable spirit carried into his adult life, as he later joined his mother on her delivery route, spreading warmth and kindness to those in need.
Gardening was another of Chris's joys, and he took immense pride in cultivating a beautiful yard. His green thumb was evident not only at his own home but also in the care he bestowed upon his mother's garden, ensuring it flourished under his attentive eye. Chris also looked forward to the yearly family trip to Topsail Island, NC where he enjoyed spending time with his extended family, creating lasting memories we will all hold dear to our hearts.
Chris is survived by his beloved wife, Meryle Lee; mother, Jacqui; brother, Benjamin "BJ" Wilson; in-laws, Kenny and Debbie Chadwick; aunts and uncles, Kevin and Debbie Dunker, Laurie Wilson, Walt and Judy Leput, Duke Brill and Colleen Dougherty; and a host of cousins and close friends he considered as family. Each relationship was treasured, each moment spent together a testament to the bond they shared. He is proceeded in death by his father, William J. Wilson and his uncle, Russell Robert Wilson.
The Wilson family has lost a shining light in Chris. His laughter, generosity, and unwavering support enriched the lives of all who knew him. We celebrate a life lived with passion, a heart given freely to others, and a legacy that will continue to inspire. Though he has left this earthly realm, his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life for Chris at the Citizens Hose Fire Company hall located at 103 West Commerce Street in Smyrna on Sunday, June 22, 2025 beginning at 1:30 P.M.
