Christopher Dale Yancey

Chris D. Yancey, a cherished son, devoted father, and beloved friend, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, in Greensboro, at the age of 54. Born on November 7, 1971, in Greensboro, Chris remained a lifelong resident of his hometown, where he touched the lives of many with his warm spirit and unwavering kindness. He was raised in Atlanta and went to Sequoyah High School.

Chris spent much of his career dedicated to the craft of auto detailing, and audio installation, where his keen eye for detail and commitment to quality earned him respect and admiration from clients and colleagues alike, as well as being featured in audio magazines. Beyond his professional endeavors, Chris's passions lay in the simple yet profound joys of life. He was an ardent animal lover, always sharing a special bond with his pets, and found great fulfillment in helping others in any way he could. Above all, Chris cherished his family, finding immense joy and pride in the time spent with his loved ones.

He is preceded in death by his father, Calton Earl Yancey. Chris leaves behind a family who will forever hold his memory dear: his loving mother, Jody Yancey, and his sons, Chase Yancey and Dominic Black. His legacy of love and kindness also endures through many friends who were fortunate enough to know him.

A service to celebrate Chris's life will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Glenwood Friends Meeting House, located at 2400 Old Chapman Street, Greensboro, NC 27403. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Chris are invited to gather to honor his memory and share in the warmth of his enduring spirit.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Chris's name to a local animal shelter or charity of your choice, reflecting his lifelong love for animals and his compassionate nature.

Chris D. Yancey will be remembered for his generous heart, steadfast dedication to family, and the joy he brought into the lives of those around him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
