Christopher Young, 34, of
Annandale, Virginia, passed away suddenly and tragically on January 7, 2026.
Born on October 25, 1991, Christopher was the beloved son of Tyanda Stovall and Arnold Young. He was raised in the Fairfax County area, surrounded by the love of his family, including his siblings Cordaral, Raymond, Schquita, and his youngest brother, Lamont. Christopher lived with remarkable courage, determination, and an unbreakable spirit. He never allowed his disabilities to define him, choosing instead to live fully and joyfully.
For more than 10 years, Christopher worked proudly at Goodwill, where he was known for his perfect attendance-never missing a single day. He took great pride in his work, and his dedication, reliability, and positive attitude made him a valued team member. Christopher had a natural gift for connecting with others; he often went out of his way to learn about people's interests and share in what mattered to them. His constant smile and infectious enthusiasm made him a bright light on difficult days, and many saw him as a source of encouragement and positivity.
Christopher was an active participant in the Special Olympics and truly embodied its spirit. One of his favorite mottos reflected how he lived his life:
"Let me win, but if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt."
A passionate fan, Christopher loved cheering for the Washington Commanders and also enjoyed Power Rangers, WWE, Scooby-Doo, and Dragon Ball Z. He had a creative side as well, and found joy in creating rap music, often expressing himself through rhythm, lyrics, and imagination.
Christopher is survived by his loving family as well as his long-term girlfriend, Cassie, who was a cherished part of his life, along with many extended family members, friends, coworkers, and fellow Special Olympics athletes who were touched by his kindness and joy.
Christopher's life was a powerful example of bravery, joy, perseverance, and unconditional love. Through his constant positivity, compassion, and commitment to inclusion, he made sure everyone he encountered felt seen, valued, and encouraged. Chris not only spread motivation and kindness to those he met face-to-face, but he also extended that same uplifting spirit to people around the world through his TikTok, where he shared messages of positivity and encouragement nearly every day.
Whether in person or online, Christopher had a rare gift for lifting others' spirits and bringing light to even the toughest moments. He will be forever remembered as a true champion-in sport, in work, and in the hearts of all who knew him.
