Christy Coppinger, affectionately known as Gig, was born on September 30, 1955, and passed away peacefully on September 26th, surrounded by family.

For more than 35 years, Christy and her husband, Mark Powell, shared a life built on love, faith, and family.

Christy grew up in Scottsdale, AZ, and treasured spending summers in Pinetop, where she made memories that stayed with her throughout her life. She later dedicated her career to the service industry, touching the lives of countless people with her kindness, grace, and fun-loving spirit. Beyond her work, she found purpose in helping others through her commitment to AA, where her servant's heart gave hope and encouragement to many who needed it most.

She is survived by her husband, Mark; her son, Roy, and his wife, Tori, and their sons, Noah, Zack, and Josh; her daughter, Michelle, and her husband, Brandon, and their children, Jace and Charlee; and her daughter, Amanda. She is also remembered by her extended family and many lifelong friends.

Those who knew Gig will remember her as a guiding light - someone whose love was unconditional and whose presence made others feel seen and cherished.

Service will be held on October 25 at 1 p.m. at First Christian Church, 7405 E McDonald Dr, Scottsdale, AZ 85250, followed by a celebration of life at Los Olivos in Scottsdale, one of her favorite restaurants.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of the Valley or the Valley Alano Club (2310 N 56th St, Phoenix, AZ 85008 | Venmo: @Valley-Alano).
