George Coppinger Obituary
August 29, 1941 - March 29, 2025
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of George O'Neal Coppinger. He died on Saturday, March 29 at the age of 83, in Santa Rosa, CA, where he had lived with his family for over 50 years. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Cynthia "Cindy" Coppinger, his daughter and son in law, Stephanie and Nicholas Bartich, his younger daughter, Carrie Eeds, and his four granddaughters, Bailey and Summer Bartich, and Jocelyn and Kensington Eeds. George was born in Baton Rouge, LA and moved to the Bay Area in his youth. He proudly attended Bellerman High School, University of San Francisco, and Santa Clara University. While attending Santa Clara University for his MBA, he met his wife, Cindy, and they later moved to Santa Rosa, CA. George worked for National Semiconductor for 39 years as the Director of Human Resources. George had a passion for flowers and gardening and spent many of his younger years tending the yard at their Santa Rosa home. After retiring, he enjoyed the conversations and company of friends at their local Starbucks in Bennett Valley. George was known as a kind and gentle soul, who was often referred to as "the sweetest man." He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. George's Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at The Bennett Valley Golf Course, from 11am-2pm.

How is a regular for a long time at Bennett Valley Starbucks and would often see George there. He always had a smile and a kind word to say. We would hear about his and Cindy's trips to Colorado and how University of Colorado football team was doing. George was a great guy and he will truly be missed.

My deepest condolences to George´s family. I met him when I accompanied my father, John, to the Bennett Valley Starbucks group a few times. George had such a gentle and friendly demeanor. He absolutely was "the sweetest man."

I remember George from my days working at Fairchild in Healdsburg, he was always very nice to me! God Bless him and his family!

George, my old friend and neighbor since 1978. I will always remember the sessions and creative talks with a beer on your driveway. Our children were always one of the main topics as they grew, and we compared antics they were going through. You were always out front with a smile and ready to talk as you ventured off to Starbucks. Rest in peace my friend and you are sorely missed.
