Christy Carl Hallien, born June 23, 1943, in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, passed away on December 18, 2025, in Arlington, Texas, surrounded by the love of family and friends. He was the beloved son of Christy and Jacqueline Hallien and lived a life defined by service, curiosity, generosity, and deep devotion to those he loved.
Christy was the devoted spouse of Gabrielle Mary Hallien and a proud, loving father to Deb (Sean) O’Hara, Yvonne Hallien, and Chris (Carri Uranga) Hallien. He found immense joy in his grandchildren, Karra Hallien, Sully O’Hara, and Finn O’Hara. He was a cherished great-grandfather to Kash Arenas, Lainey Roberts, and Olivia Roberts. He is also survived by his siblings, Alex Hallien, Anna Frost, and Cindy Molina.
Christy earned a Bachelor of Science degree from San Diego State University and dedicated his professional life to public service. He served with distinction as a Special Agent in the Inspector General's Office of the Department of Defense. Following his career, he remained actively engaged with his professional community as a member of the National Association of Retired Postal Inspectors and the National Active and Retired Federal Employees.
An educator at heart, Christy was a tutor and counselor who loved sharing knowledge and encouraging others. He had a lifelong passion for learning and could often be found playing chess, reading, listening to music, singing, birdwatching, or solving mathematical problems. A gifted storyteller, he had a remarkable ability to strike up a conversation with anyone and make them feel heard and valued.
Christy was known for his generous spirit and unwavering support for others, especially children, whom he adored. He was deeply dedicated to his family and had a special way of making everyone feel loved and welcome. Many will fondly remember him as a legendary slumber-party host and an unforgettable breakfast maker, creating memories that will be treasured for generations.
The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Friday, December 26, 2025, at Wade Family Funeral Home, Arlington, Texas. A funeral mass will be held at 9am the following day at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1200 S. Davis Dr., Arlington, Texas 76013. The graveside will follow at Laurel Land Rose Hill Cemetery, 7301 E. Lancaster Ave., Fort Worth, Texas 76112.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Christy’s honor to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital through a memorial gift.
Christy Carl Hallien will be remembered for his kindness, wisdom, warmth, and the countless lives he touched. His legacy of love and service will continue to live on in all who knew him.
