Christy Renee Macdonald

Christy MacDonald passed away Friday morning, December 29 at Virginia Hospital Center. She was 40 years old and lived in Arlington, VA. She brought a great deal of fun and laughter to the lives of her family, friends and co-workers. She will be deeply missed.
Christy was born in Loma Linda, CA and spent her youth in southern California. She participated in church activities with her family there. She moved to the St. Louis area and played on youth softball and basketball teams. Christy graduated from Parkway North High School. While in school she made many friends and participated in the volleyball and basketball teams. She played a key role in the success of these teams during her four years at Parkway North.
Christy began working in the hotel business after high school and continued in that industry for the rest of her life. For the past 20 years, she lived in Northern Virginia, selling hotel and conference space for hotels in Northern Virginia and Washington, DC.
Christy is survived by family and friends who will miss her greatly. Her family includes her sister, Tracy MacDonald, of Vienna, VA; her brother Mark MacDonald, his wife Rachel MacDonald of Vancouver, WA; her father Chuck MacDonald and his wife Kristen MacDonald of Annapolis, MD; her aunt and uncle Marcy Miller and Fredric Miller of Naperville, IL. Other family members include her niece Maggie MacDonald and cousins Jessica Miller, Alex Miller and Christopher Miller. She was preceded in death by her mother Lindsa MacDonald who passed away in 2011.
A celebration of life service for Christy will be held on Saturday, February 3 at Cunningham Turch Funeral Home, 811 Cameron Street, Alexandria, VA 22314. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until the time of her service at 1:00 PM.
