Christy Franklin Smith, age 61 of Kelly, LA, was born November 10, 1963, in Urania, LA, to the union of her parents, Huey Pierce Franklin and Margaret Ann Harris Franklin, and she passed from this life October 5, 2025, at her home in Kelly. Christy enjoyed being outside working in her yard, mowing and raking. She loved traveling around with her friends Kelly and Sandy, going in search of antiques to add to her collection. When she was home she spent time working puzzles. Her family was where her heart was. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and an adoring grandmother. Her grandsons were her pride and joy and she loved spending time with them.
Christy was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Michael Wayne Franklin; and her sister, Kay Franklin Atwell. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, James Randy Smith; her daughters, Savana Smith and Maelyn Smith; and her grandsons: Collin Mercer, Caine Mercer, and Kase Veuleman.
Christy's family has chosen cremation and they will have a graveside memorial service at a later date. The service information will be made available soon.
