Charles Leroy Henry, 81, of Shawnee, OK passed away on December 2, 2025, at The
Journey Home in Bartlesville, OK. Charles was born June 7, 1944, in Trousdale, OK to
John and Mary Henry. He graduated from Tribby High School in 1961 where he enjoyed
playing baseball and basketball, which began his lifelong passion for sports. In addition,
he was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time in God's creation. Charles
graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1970 with a degree in Civil Engineering.
He began his career with Oklahoma Department of Transportation based in Tulsa, OK
where he met and married Carol Elaine Downey on December 31, 1971, and had 2 sons,
James Patrick and Jeffrey Charles. They moved to Fairbanks, AK in 1975 while serving
as camp manager on the Alyeska Pipeline. After moving back to Pawhuska, OK in 1977,
Charles' career led the family to Borger, TX in 1979 where the boys were raised and
finished his career with Phillips Petroleum Company and then Rice Construction
Company. Charles and Carol retired in 2003 and began to travel and enjoyed spending
time with family. After the death of Carol Henry in 2007, Charles reconnected and
married Sandra K. Thompson in 2010 and made Shawnee, OK their home. Charles was
preceded in death by his parents, wife Carol Henry, son James Henry and wife Sandra
Henry. He is survived by: son Jeffrey Henry; grandson Nicholas and granddaughter
Alyssa Henry of Owasso, OK; grandson Zachary and granddaughter Olivia Henry of
Pawhuska, OK and many close friends and family members.

Memorial service to celebrate Charles life will be held at 2 pm December 19, 2025, for
family and friends at Kendrick McCartney Johnson Funeral Home, 223 E. 6th St.
Pawhuska, OK.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Journey Home, 900 NE Washington
Blvd., Bartlesville, OK 74006.
