Lowell E. Henry

Lowell E. Henry, 93, of York, passed away on December 3, 2025, at his home. He was the husband of Delores (Kissinger) Henry.
Born December 28, 1931, in Seven Valleys, he was the son of the late Paul R. Henry and Lettie (Heindel) Henry and graduated from Glen Rock High School in 1948. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955 at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. He graduated from Millersville University and obtained a Master's degree from Penn State. Lowell was a social studies and history teacher at Spring Grove middle school for 35 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, playing cards with fellow retired teachers, spending time with his family, attending his grandsons' sporting events and watching the Baltimore Orioles.
Lowell was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in West York, serving on church council and as a Sunday School teacher. He also served as a docent at the Gates House Plough Tavern.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two children, Barbara Reed (Joseph) and Thomas, brother Dean Henry, sister Shirley Cook, grandsons Adam (Madisyn) and Ben Reed, and great-grandchildren Parker and Ella. He was preceded in death by brothers P. Lynn and Clair Henry.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, December 12, at John W. Keffer Funeral Home, 2114 West Market Street, York, with Pastor David Hoth officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00, with a service beginning at 11:00am. Burial will be at Mount Rose Cemetery.
