Lifelong Pawhuska resident Geroge Anton "Tony" Shimonek, II, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2025 at his home in Pawhuska. He was 68 years old.
Tony was born March 3, 1957, in Pawhuska, the son of George Anton and Sarah (Gilbert) Shimonek. He attended Pawhuska schools, graduating from Pawhuska High School with the Class of 1975. During that time, he was a member of the PHS football and wrestling squads. On April 25, 2015, he married the former Anissa Thomas in Pawhuska.
Tony was a retired casino security worker. An avid Blues man, he enjoyed playing his harmonica for anyone. He loved spending all the time he could with his grandkids and really enjoyed watching the ones who wrestle.
Surviving is his wife, Anissa; sons Ross Shimonek and Stevie Shimonek; sister Macia Wilson; grandchildren, Jenny Redeagle, Caden Crawford, Carman Crawford, Ellie Lynn, Ross Shimonek, II, Evelyn Shimonek, Danger Shimonek, Edith Shimonek, Halo Allen, Triton Shimonek, Addison Shimonek, Sarah Shimonek, Logan Shimonek, Jacy Gray and Braden Sleeper; and great granddaughter Hazel Gray. Tony was preceded in death by his parents.
