Charles (Chuck) P. Hillicke Jr., son of Charles Sr. and Catherine Hillicke, was born on February 21, 1942, in Queens, NY. After living in Queens and Ronkonkoma, NY, Chuck retired in 1991 and moved to Wilmington, North Carolina in 1992. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, August 1, 2025.
After graduating from Martin Van Buren High School in Queens, NY, Chuck enlisted in the Air Force, serving for four years as a Tech Sergeant in Radar Systems, working on aircraft such as the Convair F-102 Delta Dagger. He spent most of his enlistment in Hahns, Germany, where he also took part in amateur German motor sports events. He was honorably discharged in November 1965. Chuck joined the Suffolk County NY Police Department in September 1968, where he served for over 23 years and retired as a Sergeant in April 1992.
Chuck was predeceased by his wife, Kaaren Hillicke, and is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Eileen Hillicke. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared a life full of love and unforgettable memories. He is also survived by their children, Donna Dellomo (Todd), James Hillicke (Felicia), Tom Allmer (Stefana), Julie Bright (Rickey), James Allmer (Christina), and Kathleen Payne (Lee); his sixteen grandchildren (with one on the way); his sister, Lois Stueck; in-laws; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Chuck had a love for dogs, camping, fishing, being on the water, watching motor sports, and was a jack of all trades. He stayed an avid steward of service to others. He was also a dedicated member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary in Wrightsville Beach. The time he spent with his family was what he cherished the most. Chuck will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family and his dedication to service. There was never a job too big or too small for Chuck, and he was always there to help.
He will be deeply missed by everyone and has touched the lives of many more people than we know.
