Cicely Eudora Rollins was born on June 5th, 1943 to Doris Rollins and Kenneth Clark in Bridgetown Barbados. She was the fourth of six children.
In her younger years, Cicely enjoyed the vibrancy of her community. She loved attending horse races at the Garrison, and she never missed the joy of Crop Over events, often celebrating with her daughters and friends. Full of joy, charisma, and positivity, Cicely was the heart of every gathering. Her house parties were highly anticipated by neighbors, nieces, and nephews. Everyone was drawn to her bubbly energy, magnetic personality, and chef-quality cooking.
Cicely will forever be remembered as an amazing mother, dedicated to raising and providing for her children, there was no distance she would not travel to support her children, and she always made sure each of them felt her love. She cherished her grandchildren deeply, pouring her heart into their lives. She was a devoted grandmother, and although distance sometimes separated her from her grandchildren, she never failed to send warm messages of love and encouragement.
She was a proud member of Hawthorn Methodist Church while living in Barbados and carried her faith with her throughout her life.
Cicely later relocated to Arlington, Virginia, where she continued her legacy of caregiving. She helped her daughter raise her three children, Daviida, Amber and Amya, while also pursuing new opportunities for herself. During her time in Arlington, she proudly earned a cooking certification and went on to secure a position at one of Northern Virginia's most respected assisted living facilities, where she was admired for her skill, compassion, and work ethic.
Outside of her professional and family life, Cicely's passions made her unforgettable. She loved all genres of music, with a special fondness for oldies and soca. She will be remembered as a "dancing queen" and a party favorite, always lighting up the room with her moves, her laughter, and her radiant energy. She also enjoyed the quieter moments in life, reading from her extensive collection of books, daily devotions and watching movies with the same zest she brought to every other part of her journey.
Cicely was also a beloved caretaker to the Boos family, where she provided exceptional care and left an irreplaceable mark on their lives. Her gift for caregiving was not just a profession, it was a calling. She also has sponsored many children over the years through charities. And kept up with her sponsorship well into her 70s.
Later in life, Cicely was diagnosed with dementia. Despite the challenges, she faced the illness with remarkable courage, supported by the love of her family. She never lost her radiant smile, her fierce personality, or her spark of joy. She was loved by every nurse, caregiver, and individual who came into her presence. Although dementia may take memories, her family finds peace in knowing that she always held tightly to the memory of her great grandchild, Jacob, who was so dear to her heart.
On September 11, 2025, our beloved Cicely Eudora Rollins was called home to rest. Proceeding her in death are her parents Doris Rollins and Kenneth Clark, and siblings Erskine and Sylvia Rollins and niece Deborah Jordan.
