She was born on June 15, 1962, in Oak Park, Illinois, to Robert Jr. and Marilyn (Ward) DeLand. Cindy married James "Jim" Elmore on April 26, 2014 in Pekin, Illinois. He survives.
Also surviving are her two daughters, Cori Sanchez of Morton and Hannah Elmore of Washington; four grandchildren, Aurora Nino, Mikala Sanchez, Marley Elizondo and Kitsune Elizondo; one great-grandchild on the way, Leviathan McGuire and one brother, Robert DeLand III. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Lawrence "Larry" DeLand.
Cindy enjoyed gardening, sewing, doing arts and crafts, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandkids.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to Illinois Cancer Care.
