Cindy Lee Evenson, 65 years of age, of Mounds View passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Kanger's Hospice Care Home in Fridley.
She was born September 6, 1958, in Minneapolis, MN to David and Janelle (Krinke) Evenson. Cindy grew up living in Inver Grove Heights, St. James and Detroit Lakes. She graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1976. She then attended St. Cloud State College.
Cindy lived in the metro area and worked for the State of Minnesota for over 30 years. Some of those years were spent working for the MN State Lottery. Cindy retired in 2009.
In her retirement years Cindy lived in Louisiana, Florida and Michigan. She came home to live in Minnesota to be closer to her mother. Cindy began developing health problems and was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in March of last year.
Cindy had many hobbies. She enjoyed rock collecting and collecting African art and artifacts. She enjoyed reading and at one time had thousands of books in her library. Cindy loved nature and the out of doors. Her love of her pets included many cats and dogs through the years.
Cindy was preceded in death by her father, David Evenson in 2008, grandparents, Victor and Mary Krinke and Noris and Dora Evenson. Cindy is survived by her mother Janelle Evenson of Cambridge, brother Paul (Heidi) Evenson of Houston, TX, nephew Gary Keyes of Houston, TX, and special loved ones, Paige Mahner and Hannah and Athena Kersting. She also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
