Cindy Mounger, 60, of Marion, passed away at 1:33 am on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Marion Health. She was born in Muncie, Indiana, on Tuesday, September 22, 1964, to James and Ida (Blankenship) Mounger.
Cindy dedicated many years working as a CNA-a profession she loved deeply because of her tender heart and compassionate spirit found purpose in caring for others. She found her greatest joy in the company of her grandchildren, whose laughter lit up her world. Her beloved dog, Joey was never far from her side, a constant companion in both quiet moments and lively adventures. A true enthusiast of Chinese food, she never missed a chance to share a favorite dish with those she loved. Generous to the core, she delighted in spontaneous shopping sprees-not for herself, but to surprise others with thoughtful gifts. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She survived serious health battles in both 2012 and 2023, surviving both times when recovery seemed unlikely. In her final days, Cindy found comfort in the belief that God would stay with her until her final breath, and that at the end she would be with him. Family was everything to her, and wherever she went, laughter and energy followed. She was always up to something-mischievous, kind-hearted, and full of life. With her around, there was never a dull moment.
Cindy is survived by her father, James Mounger; children, Laura Keller of Marion, Meredith (Mario) Pamphil, Lisa Keller Norman (Jamie) Keller, Hannah (Steve) Himes; grandchildren, Makaila Keller, Alina Keller, Maria Ortiz, Jadon Keller, Aleesiya Sanchez, Latisiana Sanchez, Carlos Sanchez, Trinity Allen, Aubrianna Keller, Brisa Conteras, Mateo Keller, Daniel Maurice Keller, Marigold Keller, Jayden Himes, Keeylie Himes, Avonlea Himes, Charis Himes, Anika Himes; sisters, Wanda (Mike) Hitt, Rita Mounger, and Deborah Bunton.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ida Mounger; nephew, James Mounger; and sisters, Shirley Mounger and Diana Mounger.
Memorial services were held on August 24, 2025, in Vincennes, and again on her birthday, September 22, 2025.
Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
