Cindy Nhung Nguyen, born on April 30, 1970, in Vietnam, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, at her home in Yorktown at the age of 55, surrounded by loved ones.

Cindy was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend. She pursued her education with vigor as proven by her consistently ranking at the very top of all her school courses in her hometown of Saigon and then after arriving in the U.S., she continued by earning both her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Christopher Newport University. All this commitment to learning and excellence led her to a successful career as a computer scientist for the Department of the Army at Ft. Eustis, VA, where she was known for her intelligence, dedication, and problem-solving skills.

Beyond her professional life, Cindy had a profound love for cooking, crocheting, sewing, gardening and raising backyard chickens. Her amazing food dishes, intricate crochet work, lush gardens full of exotic flowers, vegetables and fruit trees were a testament to her creativity and patience. Her family and friends remember her gentle hands crafting beautiful pieces and tending to her beloved plants and chickens, bringing warmth and joy to all who were fortunate to witness and partake of her talents. She loved to travel with her husband to fun, relaxing and sometimes exotic destinations, but mostly Cindy loved the ocean and beach.

A devout Catholic, she was a member of both Our Lady Queen of Peace at Fort Eustis, VA and Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Yorktown, VA , Cindy's faith was an integral part of her life, guiding her actions and interactions with others. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering support to those around her.

Cindy leaves behind her loving husband, Philip Wise, who stood by her side, hand in hand throughout their years together. She is also survived by her cherished children, Sydney Land and Meggie Land, who were the light of her life. Her siblings, Quan Nguyen and Quoc Nguyen, held a special place in her heart, and who she shared a deep bond with. Her parents Charles and Yen Nguyen. As well as many relatives from around the world.

Cindy's legacy is one of love, compassion, and dedication. Her memory will forever be treasured by those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her gentle spirit and enduring love will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
