Cindy Arden Sparks (Rogers), 64, of Roanoke, Virginia passed away unexpectedly on April 7, 2023, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Roanoke, Virginia on June 3, 1958, to the late Frank Rogers and the late Nancy McCoy (Sullivan).
Cindy dedicated many years as a Certified Medical Assistant to her patients and retired from Lewis Gale Physicians. She loved patient care and never met a stranger. She had a beautiful heart, and anyone who had the chance to meet her fell in love with her instantly. Her compassion was for animals which she loved wholeheartedly, especially her dog Maggie.
She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Sha'ela Jade Nelm; and brothers, Danny, Mark, and Chip Rogers.
She leaves behind her four beautiful children, Richard (Amanda), Marie, Amanda, and Nathan Thomas; her significant other of many years, Clinton E. Sparks; step-father, Algie McCoy; sister and best friend, Melody (Robert) Hodges; brothers, Jeff (Tasha) Rogers, Mike (Cherie) Rogers; step-sister, Angela McCoy; step-brother, Algie McCoy Jr.; grandchildren, Caleb Giovanni Withrow, Katie Melton, Christian, Cody, Haley, Megan, Brayden, Lilly, Tyler Thomas, Christopher, Shane Edmonds, Xavier Basham, Patrick, Malachi Nelms, Zachari Caldwell, Kayley Jeffries, Brielle, Nathan Thomas Jr.; great-grandchildren, Cain Campbell and Nova Thomas; a host of nieces and nephews. She loved her family beyond measure.
A Celebration of Life for Cindy will be held at the Vinton War Memorial Community Center, located at 814 East Washington Avenue Vinton, Virginia on Sunday, April 16, 2023, from 2 pm -5 pm. The family will be having a cookout and ask that family and friends bring a dish and come share some of their favorite memories that you have of Cindy.
