Nancy Derflinger Sparks, a cherished soul of Fountain, Florida whose warmth and kindness touched the hearts of all who knew her, peacefully passed away on August 11, 2025, in Panama City, Florida. Born on July 28, 1953, in Front Royal, Virginia, she brought light and love into the world that would resonate profoundly for 72 years.

Nancy was a Bay County resident since February of 1972, where she lived with her family and worked 16 of those years at Bay Medical Center. She enjoyed collecting all things Mickey Mouse as well as Precious Moments porcelain figurines and spending time with her dear loved ones.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Larry Derflinger, and her beloved sisters, Ann Cockrell and Goldie King.

She was the cherished wife of Charles Edward Sparks, with whom she built an extraordinary life over 57 years. Together, they raised their son, Charles Edward Sparks, Jr., affectionately known at JR, and his wife, Michelle. Nancy was a source of love and joy to her grandchildren, Heather Greene and Lindsey Garcia. She is also survived by her sister, Joyce Clegg, and her husband Bobby.

In every memory shared, every story told, and every moment treasured, Nancy's spirit will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends. Her radiant smile, compassionate heart, and the moments of pure joy she created will be the gifts she leaves behind, nestled in the hearts of those she loved.

Memorialization will be by cremation. Arrangements are entrusted to the Lambe family at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
