Ciro Gregorio Correa Lecaros, age 89, of Miami, Florida, passed away on November 15, 2022, of natural causes.
Ciro was born on January 9, 1933, to Ciro Correa Vial and Anita Lecaros Garcés in Santiago, Chile.
At the young age of 21, with so much love for his family and his beloved country of Chile, he embarked on the adventure of his life. With $20 in his pocket and a dream in his heart, he boarded a ship to Miami and then took a Greyhound bound for New York. The only English words in his vocabulary were "Have job?" From there he would begin a long career in the airline industry spending over 60 years with LAN Chile (now known as LATAM), the national airline of Chile. His career spanned decades, making him the face and name of LAN locally and even internationally.
He is survived by his wife Alejandra Correa Tapia and their four children Eugenio Correa, Alejandra M. Correa Miller, and her spouse David M. Miller, Catalina A. Correa, and Nicolás C. Correa and his spouse Cristina Rivera Correa. He also is survived by his four children from his previous marriage to Vivian Correa Badt (deceased), Carola Correa and her spouse Jaime Correa, Ciro (Tony) Correa and his spouse Cyndi Correa, Stephen (Steve) Correa and John Patrick (Pat) Correa.
He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Carolina Barberi with her spouse Luis Barberi, Andres Correa, Jonathan Gomez, Ella Mina Correa, Maximiliano J. Miller, Nicolás K. Miller, Colette Correa, Jacinta F. Miller, Marcel Correa, and Margot Correa. He is also survived by his dear great-grandchildren, Liam A. and Leo T. Barberi.
Ciro was predeceased by his father and mother Ciro and Anita Correa, and his brothers Ricardo, Max, and Pelayo Correa. He is survived by his brother Andres, Gregorio, Anita, and Pilar Correa. He is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews and extended family in Chile.
He was a gentleman who loved people and always looked out for other people's needs. He had a sense of humor until the very end and his love of his family and the joy of living, always with a smile on his face, will be his legacy.
