Ciro Gregorio Correa Lecaros, age 89, of Miami, Florida, passed away on November 15, 2022, of natural causes.
Ciro was born on January 9, 1933, to Ciro Correa Vial and Anita Lecaros Garcés in Santiago, Chile.
At the young age of 21, with so much love for his family and his beloved country of Chile, he embarked on the adventure of his life. With $20 in his pocket and a dream in his heart, he boarded a ship to Miami and then took a Greyhound bound for New York. The only English words in his vocabulary were "Have job?" From there he would begin a long career in the airline industry spending over 60 years with LAN Chile (now known as LATAM), the national airline of Chile. His career spanned decades, making him the face and name of LAN locally and even internationally.
He is survived by his wife Alejandra Correa Tapia and their four children Eugenio Correa, Alejandra M. Correa Miller, and her spouse David M. Miller, Catalina A. Correa, and Nicolás C. Correa and his spouse Cristina Rivera Correa. He also is survived by his four children from his previous marriage to Vivian Correa Badt (deceased), Carola Correa and her spouse Jaime Correa, Ciro (Tony) Correa and his spouse Cyndi Correa, Stephen (Steve) Correa and John Patrick (Pat) Correa.
He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Carolina Barberi with her spouse Luis Barberi, Andres Correa, Jonathan Gomez, Ella Mina Correa, Maximiliano J. Miller, Nicolás K. Miller, Colette Correa, Jacinta F. Miller, Marcel Correa, and Margot Correa. He is also survived by his dear great-grandchildren, Liam A. and Leo T. Barberi.
Ciro was predeceased by his father and mother Ciro and Anita Correa, and his brothers Ricardo, Max, and Pelayo Correa. He is survived by his brother Andres, Gregorio, Anita, and Pilar Correa. He is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews and extended family in Chile.
He was a gentleman who loved people and always looked out for other people's needs. He had a sense of humor until the very end and his love of his family and the joy of living, always with a smile on his face, will be his legacy.
A viewing will be held at Van Orsdel Funeral home at 11220 N Kendall Drive in Miami, tomorrow Thursday, November 17th from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. The funeral Mass will be held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, at 12125 SW 107th Avenue, Miami at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 18th. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to Hogar de Cristo, USA, an organization dear to Ciro's heart as he had a great love and personal connection to its founder St. Alberto Hurtado.

Ciro nació el 9 de enero del 1933 a padres Ciro Correa Vial y Anita Lecaros Garcés en Santiago, Chile.
A la temprana edad de 21 años, con mucho amor por su familia y su querido Chile, embarcó en la aventura de su vida. Con solo 20 dólares en su bolsillo y un sueño en su corazón, subió a bordo un barco destinado para Miami y luego, un bus hacia Nueva York. Llegó equipado exclusivamente con las palabras en inglés, "Have job?" De ahí, comenzaría una larga carrera en la industria aerolínea, dedicándole más de 60 años a LAN Chile (ahora conocido como LATAM), la empresa nacional chilena. Con razón, llegó a ser el rostro y el nombre de LAN locamente, al igual que internacionalmente.
Le sobrevive su esposa, Alejandra Correa Tapia y sus cuatro hijos, Eugenio Correa, Alejandra M. Correa, y el esposo, David M. Miller, Cataina A. Correa y Nicolás C. Correa y la esposa, Cristina Rivera Correa. También le sobrevive los cuatro hijos de su previo matrimonio con Vivian Correa Badt (fallecida), Carola Correa y el esposo Jaime Correa, Ciro (Tony) Correa y la esposa Cyndi Correa, Stephen Correa y John Patrick (Pat) Correa.
Además deja atrás sus amados nietos, Carolina Barberi y el esposo Luis Barberi, Andrés Correa, Jonathan Gómez, Ella Mina Correa, Maximiliano J. Miller, Nicolás K. Miller, Colette Correa, Jacinta F. Miller, Marcel Correa y Margot Correa. También le sobrevive sus queridos bisnietos, Liam T. Barberi y Leo T. Barberi.
Su padre, Ciro, y su madre, Anita, al igual que sus hermanos, Ricardo, Max, y Pelayo Correa. También le sobrevive sus hermanos, Andrés, Gregorio, Anita, y Pilar Correa y varios sobrinos y familia en Chile.
Fue un caballero que sabía querer a su prójimo y siempre se ocupaba de los demás. Su sentido de humor hasta el final, y el amor que tuvo por su familia y por la vida - siempre con una sonrisa en su rostro - será su legado.
El velorio se llevará a cabo en Van Orsdel Funeral Home, localizado en 11220 N. Kendall Drive en Miami, mañana, jueves, 17 de noviembre entre 3 y 8 p.m. La misa funeral tomará lugar en St. John Neumann Catholic Church en 12125 S.W. 107 Avenue en Miami a las 11 a.m. el viernes, 18 de noviembre. En lugar de flores, la familia pide que donen al Hogar de Cristo, USA, una organización apreciada por Ciro, ya que tuvo una gran afección por, y relación personal con, su fundador, San Alberto Hurtado.
