Clair Blon Obituary
Clair Edison "Ed" Blon, 92, of Belmont, Ohio passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023 at home with family. He was born October 28, 1931 in Belmont, Ohio, a son of the late Forrest A. Blon and Pauline Tiber Blon.
Ed served in the U.S. Army for 28 years until retiring in 1978. He lived and worked in New York, NJ and New York City, NY for a private contractor as a Computer IT Specialist. After retirement he was employed by the Cherry Tree Toy Company and did specialized carpentry, including a patent for the company.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 312, and a member of the Belmont County Veterans Association. In volunteerism he assisted the Belmont County Veterans Museum now known as the Tri-State Military Veterans Museum in Belmont Ohio. He bowled three times a week for many years and enjoyed doing carpentry work. Ed was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lenora B (Heath) Blon; his brothers, Delbert V. Blon, Fred A. Blon; sisters, Shirley Piatt, Linda Hashman, and Judith F. Burghy.
Ed is survived by a sister, Darlene Hinkle of Bethesda, Ohio; his daughter, Sharon Blon Thomas of Myrtle Beach, SC; a son, Mark E. (Judy) Blon, of Holloway, Ohio; three grandchildren; Jacques E. Lamarche, Zachary N. Blon, and Jacqueline R. Lamarche.
Calling hours are Friday, December 22, 2023 from 11am to the time of service at 1pm at the Wilson Funeral Home, 322 North Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio 43719. Burial to follow in the Belmont Cemetery.
