Clair Manning Goodwin, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025. He was born on December 15, 1957, in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, to Glen K. and Norma Manning Goodwin.
Even though Clair experienced many physical challenges throughout his life, he was always positive and would work hard to learn and accomplish things. Clair was a kind and gentle soul who found joy in the simple things-especially spending time outdoors and fishing. He was known for his quiet strength, dependable nature, and his genuine love for family and community. He had a remarkable memory for dates and details. Even if it had been years since he last saw someone, he would recall something special about them.
Over the years, Clair worked faithfully at the Manti Temple, Norbest Turkey Processing Plant, and Walmart, where his hard work and warm personality earned the respect and friendship of many. A loyal fan of Manti High School sports, he could always be found cheering on the Templars with enthusiasm and pride.
Clair was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Having a current temple recommend was very important to him.
He is survived by his siblings: Kaye (Michael) Nielsen, Julie (Bruce) Hall, Rex (Mary) Goodwin, Rosemary (Grant) Bowden, and many nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service will be held on November 1, 2025, at 11:30 am in the Manti City Cemetery, 50 South Main Street, Manti, Utah 84642.
Services are under the care and direction of Olpin Family Mortuary in Pleasant Grove, Utah. Condolences may be sent to the family at olpinmortuary.com.
