Claire Theresa (Murphy) Dauwer, 97, of Brockton, passed away peacefully at Brockton Hospital on November 1, 2025.
Claire was born in Cambridge on October 27, 1928, the daughter of the late John and Josephine (Dunn) Murphy. She grew up in Cambridge and attended an all-girls school, St. Mary's, for 12 years. Claire went on to work at Brockton Hospital in the Registration Department, where she dedicated 30 years of service and took great pride in her work.
Claire was known for her impeccable sense of style, she always had the best outfits. She was an avid Boston sports fan who loved cheering on her hometown teams. She also enjoyed playing Keno, and never missed an episode of Jeopardy. A lifelong admirer of Frank Sinatra.
Above all, Claire cherished time with her family. Her greatest joy came from being surrounded by her loved ones and creating lasting memories together.
Claire is survived by her children: Susan and John Margie of East Bridgewater, Arthur and Sue Dauwer of Scituate, Paul and Angela Dauwer of Falmouth, Michael Dauwer of Boston, Robert and Michele Dauwer of Whitman, Kevin and Amy Dauwer of Bridgewater. She is also survived by her sister Lorraine (Murphy) Clifford of Florida, along with many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. And many nieces and nephews as well.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Arthur Dauwer, her children Beverly and John Dauwer, and her longtime companion Larry Snow.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, November 6, from 4:00–7:00 p.m. at Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary), Whitman. A funeral procession will gather at the chapel at 9:45 a.m. on Friday, November 7, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Burial will immediately follow at Northville Cemetery, East Bridgewater.
