Claire M. Gassett of Boscawen, formerly of Franklin, passed away on December 19, 2023, following a period of declining health.
Claire was born in Franklin, NH to Etienne and Isola (Loranger) Robitaille. She attended St. Mary's Elementary School and later graduated from Franklin High School. She continued her education at Plymouth State College where she obtained her teaching degree. Claire taught English at Winnisquam Regional High School for 31 years and in her retirement, she volunteered with NH Peace Action.
Claire leaves behind three children - Brent Gassett & husband Terry McKinney, Terri Culjat & husband Mark, Bruce Gassett & wife Helene, 3 grandsons and many nieces and nephews.
Claire was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Roger, Wilfred, Stephen, and Leo, her sister Rita and her former husband Clayton Gassett. She is survived by her youngest brother Robert Robitaille.
The family would like to thank the staff at Merrimack County Nursing Home and the Bayada Hospice Agency for the exceptional care they provided Claire.
The family will receive visitors at 10:00am Monday, January 29, 2024, at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH. Memorial Service will begin at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to NH Peace Action, 4 Park St, Suite 304, Concord, NH 03301.
