Claire Steen, 87, Glenburn, died Wednesday, December 10, 2025 in a Velva care center.

Claire was born on November 22, 1938, in Minot, ND to Clarence and Pansy (Nellis) Steen. He was raised and educated in Glenburn, graduating from Glenburn High School in 1957. After high school, Claire joined the Army on September 25, 1957. He was honorably discharged on September 17, 1959.

Claire married Eudene Miller on October 16, 1959, in Eldorado, OK. Following their marriage, they decided to return to the farmstead in Bottineau County near Glenburn, ND in March of 1960. Claire was a farmer for most of his life but also would pick up various jobs around Texas and North Dakota.

In 1991, Claire and Eudene moved to Glenburn where he continued to farm. While in Glenburn, they became members of First Baptist Church. Claire was involved in the church, holding various positions as a deacon and apart of the trustee board. He would also become a member of the Glenburn School Board and Sixth District Democrats. Claire was a member of the Elms Township Board and Renville-Bottineau County Agriculture Improvement Association. He served as Vice President and President of Bottineau County Farmers Union and was the director for the Farmers Union Elevator for nine years.

In Claire's free time he enjoyed golfing, bowling, and spending time with family.

His loving family includes: Wife of 66 years Eudene of Minot; Sons, Jay (Phyllis) of Halliday, ND, Rodney (Susan) of Glenburn, ND, Rickey of Minot, and Jerry (Jeanie) of Granville, ND; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; Sisters, Carol (Doyle) Anderson, of Arizona, Pearl (Don) Bloms, of Wyoming.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Melvin and Roy, and sisters, Viola and Betty.

Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 15, 2025, at First Baptist Church, Glenburn. A recording of the service will be available on (12/16) and can be accessed at: https://www.mtmsales.net/thomas

Visitation: One hour prior to the service.

Internment: Our Saviors Lutheran Cemetery, Rural Glenburn, Spring 2026
