Claire H. Streeter, 86, passed away on Tuesday September 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at her summer home. She was born on August 21, 1939, the daughter of George and Anna (Farr) Harvey.
Claire loved spending time outdoors, gardening, picking berries and enjoying wildlife. She was a sweet and gentle soul that left a big impact on the people who knew and loved her due to her kind and pure spirit. She was one who also enjoyed spoiling her pets, cooking, sewing, doing puzzles and spending time with family and friends. She was a lifelong active member of the Christian Science church and a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and wife. After growing up in Vermont and graduating from University of Vermont, she traveled to Alaska in her younger years to teach where she met her husband. She untimely returned to Maine and continued to teach intermittently for many years.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years John Streeter, her children; Julia Mushrall, Jennifer Harmon, and Alan Streeter. Grandchildren Dean Ellis, Abbey Ellis, Matthew Harmon, and Rachel Croft. Great-grandchildren; Jacoby Harmon, and Riley Harmon. Brother Phil Harvey. Along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, George Harvey Jr., Becky Boiney, Jimmy Harvey, Seward Harvey, Alice Robertson, and Buddy Harvey
She will be deeply missed by all who have had the privilege of knowing her. A heartfelt thank you to Bristol Hospice, friends and family whose kindness and support was and continues to be greatly appreciated. A celebration will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the care of Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home and Cremation. (mitchelltweedie-young.com)
