Clara Remell Baskin

Clara Remell Earle Baskin passed away peacefully in Cooper Hospital on February 25, 2026 after a long illness. Clara was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby and Josephine Earle. Those left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 54 years, David E. Baskin; her three children, Heather Baskin Byrne McCarthey, Josiah Earl Baskin, Brian Edward Baskin; twelve grandchildren; five great grandchildren; her brother, Doug Earle and her sister, Linnie Earle Donald; other relatives and friends. Clara was a lifetime member of the Southern Baptist Church. She was passionate matriarch who dearly loved her family. She was exceptionally gifted with creativity when it came to cake baking, sewing and quilting. She sold cakes, taught sewing classes, served as president of Quilters By The Sea in Wilmington NC and operated an antique consignment shop in Salem NJ for over 20 years. The family will receive friends from 10 am until the 11am Funeral Service at Memorial Baptist Church in Citronelle, Alabama with Rev. Dino Danzey officiating. Graveside service and interment will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery in Citronelle, Alabama. Clara's family invites all who knew her to join in celebrating her life and legacy during this gathering. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever reside in the hearts of those who loved her.
