Clara Mae Druen

Clara Mae Thomas Druen of Hodgenville, died Sunday, May 5, 2024, in Evansville, Indiana, of a brain aneurysm while visiting family for graduation celebrations.

She was the wife of Cecil Gorden Druen, who passed in 2018. She also was preceded in death by her parents, John H. and Ollie Mae Bush Thomas; a sister, Joyce (Thomas) Boden; and a baby brother who died in infancy. She also was preceded by several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Clara leaves behind her children and grandchildren who will miss her deeply; her son, Thomas Shelton "Shel" Druen with wife, Takako, of Shepherdsville; a daughter, Johanna Druen of Evansville, Indiana; their children are LCDR Samuel Druen, USN, wife, Kristin, in Norfolk, Virginia, Jake Rusk and Laura Rusk, both of Evansville, Indiana, and Maiyuki Druen, a veterinarian student in Glasgow, Scotland. She also is survived by a sister, Peggy Appel, spouse, Bob, of Alexandria; and a brother, John F. Thomas of Falmouth. She also was close to her in-laws and their families.

The funeral is at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia. Burial follows in Magnolia Cemetery.

Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday with an Eastern Star Service at 7 p.m. and continues from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Clara's memory to the American Red Cross or the American Cancer Society.
